Overview
CATAGEN is a Belfast based climate technology company developing engineering solutions that support decarbonisation in high emission industries. Its work focuses on helping organisations test and validate low-carbon technologies more efficiently, supporting the development of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), hydrogen systems, e-fuels and emissions technologies.
Challenge
Reducing emissions in hard-to-decarbonise sectors such as aviation, shipping and heavy industry remains one of the biggest challenges in achieving Net Zero. These industries rely on high-energy-density fuels and complex infrastructure that cannot be easily electrified. Developing and validating alternative technologies is often expensive and time-consuming, slowing the transition to cleaner energy systems.
Approach
CATAGEN has developed technologies that help manufacturers accelerate testing and validation of low-carbon solutions while reducing development costs. Its proprietary OMEGA e-Reactor™ platform enables catalyst ageing and emissions testing to be completed significantly faster than conventional methods.
Alongside this, the company supports the development of hydrogen technologies, sustainable aviation fuels and e-fuels that can help reduce emissions.
