The Sustainable Livestock Village will return to the Tullamore Show and FBD National Livestock Show on Sunday 9th August 2026, offering Irish farmers practical solutions to improve both environmental and economic performance.

Now entering its fourth year, the village has become a cornerstone of the show, providing a collaborative hub for farmers to engage directly with experts on climate action, water quality and biodiversity.

A primary theme for this year's Sustainable Livestock Village is the International Year of the Woman Farmer.

The initiative aims to recognise the vital contributions women make to rural communities while emphasising the importance of generational renewal supporting greater gender balance, innovation and leadership across the farming sector.

Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Martin Heydon, TD, who officially launched the 2026 village, stated: “The Sustainable Livestock Village provides an excellent platform for farmers to access practical information, learn from one another and see first-hand the solutions that can help improve performance on their farms"

Interactive Sustainability Demonstrations Visitors to the 2026 show can expect a diverse programme of interactive displays and expert-led discussions.

Key sessions will focus on:

  • Enhancing water quality and protecting local ecosystems
  • Driving sustainable animal performance through data and breeding
  • Implementing effective biodiversity measures on active livestock farms
  • Long-term sustainable farm planning and succession

Michael Dolan, chair of the Sustainable Livestock Village, noted that the attraction has become one of the most popular at the show because it showcases practical solutions that farmers can readily adopt on their own holdings.

The village represents a massive joint effort across the agri-food sector. For the first time in 2026, the National Dairy Council and the Agri-Food Regulator will join existing partners at the show including Teagasc, Bord Bia, Animal Health Ireland (AHI), and the Irish Cattle Breeding Federation (ICBF).
