Fermanagh and Omagh Local Economic Partnership has launched a £4.5m Action Plan for 2025–2028.

Its key aims include increasing good jobs, raising productivity, promoting regional balance and supporting decarbonisation.

What the £4.5m will fund

A new business growth programme will offer capital grants of up to £40,000 to micro and small businesses, alongside mentoring and masterclasses.

The funding will help firms invest in equipment, digital technologies and automation to expand and improve productivity.

The plan also includes a Tech Founder Programme for early-stage and growing technology businesses, initiatives for the creative and digital economy, and support to retain graduate talent.

Tourism and hospitality businesses will receive help to develop high-quality visitor experiences, while a flagship event will showcase the district’s culture, heritage and natural assets.

For small firms, that could mean investing in more efficient equipment or smarter energy use. Thus cutting running costs while making workplaces warmer and more comfortable for staff and customers.

The support is designed to help businesses and social enterprises reduce emissions without losing sight of day-to-day pressures such as energy bills, staffing and growth.

Economy Minister Dr Caoimhe Archibald welcomed the plan as a “clear, locally led ambition for sustainable economic growth”.

She said bringing together local government, businesses, education providers and community partners would help ensure investment is focused on the district’s strengths and needs.

Why it matters

The plan positions Fermanagh and Omagh to pursue economic growth that is more regionally balanced and environmentally sustainable.

By combining business investment, skills development, tourism and decarbonisation support, the partnership aims to build a resilient local economy while helping businesses prepare for a lower-carbon future.
